Shamna, Trisha to team up in Tollywood

Malayali actress Shamna Kasim's first Telugu horrorflick, Avunu, is
doing a dream run at the BO, running to packed houses even 60 days
after its release. Close on the heelsof its success, the actresstells
us that she has been signed on for yet another big banner Tollywood
flick — this time, for director and producer M S Raju's next. "It's a
heroine-oriented film where Trisha and I play the lead," Shamna
informs.
The actress does not hide the excitement of teaming up with Trisha,
easily one of the most sought-after actresses in K-Town. "I'vebeen
fortunate enough to join hands with A-lister heroes in tinseltown.
Though, this is the first time I'll be teaming up with an actress in
the big league," she beams.
Meanwhile, Shamna is gearing up to play the partAnn Augustine did in
the Tamil remake of Ordinary , titled Jannaloram . The shoot is
scheduled to startin Kuttikanam soon, with Parthiban, Bimal, Mynaa
hero Vidharth and Manishareprising the roles Biju Menon, Kunchacko
Boban, Hemanth Menon and Shritha Sivadas played in the original. "The
storylineis more or less the same, except that the hero's character
has been tweaked accordingly to suitthe Tamil audience," she informs.
On the Mollywood front, post her debut as a heroine in the industry in
the recently released Chattakkari , Shamna will next be seen in
debutant director Rajesh's Ask . Interestingly, the film will have her
teaming up with yesteryear actress Lakshmi, whose role in the 1974
flick Chattakkari she reprised in its recent remake. "The film, which
narrates the tale of six beautiful women, will also have Nadia Moidu
and Lena in the lead," says Shamna. I'll be playing Narain's pair in
the flick," she signs off.
