Chennai, Nov 15 (Agencies): Film actress Namitha is reportedly
preparing to bid goodbye to film career and join politics. According
to sources, she is planning to join the BJP and play a key role in
Tamil Nadupolitics.
Namitha is not getting any film chances excepting a few guest
appearances in films like Simha these days. She has confined herself
to TV channels in Tamil Nadu in recent times. Kollywood reports say
that she has decided to take membership of the BJP and try her luck.
As Namitha is a popular star in Tamil Nadu, BJP has reportedly offered
a star status in the party also. Namitha knows Gujarat Chief Minister
Narendra Modi personally and it was under his guidance that she was
preparing to join BJP, say reports.
Namitha hails from Gujarat and was Miss Surat in 1998. She has acted
in several Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi films. She has entered Tollywood
pairing with AryanRajesh in 'Sontham'. She made Bollywood entry
through 'Love Ke Chakkar Mein'.
